How will our video differ from this?
Firstly to state the obvious we wont be able to film in similar weather conditions or use any sports cars. However we will be able to use the city to our advantage, filming in different locations ranging from the inner city to Alexandra palace.
Another point is that we don't have the funding to use a lot of expensive props. Also the concept will be different being that we are mostly going to be focusing on the lyrics to the song.

Wiley is a grime artist that typically attracts young males of the ages 18-24. Many are from urban areas such as London,midlands and North East which are usually city areas that have young people. Wiley is from London so therefore appeals to those living in urban areas because they can relate to him in a more personal way than other artist.

It seems there is variation of comments however 3/4 is one of a positive comment in which they complementing Wiley. 

It seems the thing they like to do most is watch movies and play video games. It seems they enjoy food and drink and animal?nature. They seem to like to watch the Jeremy Kyle typical of working class evening tv

What is the function of a music video?

A music video is a short film depicting the lyrics lyrics of a song by an artist in a visual way for the benefit of the artist.

As an example I chose Michael Jackson's Thriller:

The reason I chose this was because at the time nothing else was like this, and the video it self was able to boost Michael Jackson's career even further.
It also set the tone for music videos to come.

What is the function of a music video?

• A music videos portrays emotions and stories to give a visual representation of the song.   
• Helps promote sales of the song
• Helps sales of the song
• Help the song reach a reach wider audience
• Provides outlet for other than radio,MP3 etc  because of the visual expect a music video provides.
• Promote the artist
• Promotes artist brand image              

                                             

 

 A good example of a successful music video is PSY- Gagman style, which was the first video to reach 1 billion on YouTube. It was revolutionary video which not only promoted PSY the artist, it promoted a whole genre of music (K-POP).It promoted PSY as a dancer which is his trademark and his unusual video that attracted a lot of views.

• A videotaped performance of a recorded popular song, usually accompanied by dancing and visual images interpreting the lyrics. 

• However, the production of music videos are far from simplistic. This can be very experimental and stylised, utilizing a different structure, camera and editing techniques that we aren't familiar with seeing in conventional broadcast moving image texts, such as TV drama or News.

What are the functions of a music video?

• There are many different purposes of a music video such as giving a visual representation of the song, but it's main purpose is to promote the single, the album the single is from, and of course, the artist. To do this, a music video has to:

1. Sell the song in a way that the audience can remember the song from the video.
2. To provide the viewer with a better understanding of the song so they engage with it both visually and audibly.
3. To entertain the viewer by highlighting the talents of the artist - dancing, singing, performing and physical appearance.

A good example of a music video is Lady Gaga - Telephone. This is because it is an event video and it conforms to the music video conventions of the pop genre. Her costumes, props and crazy hairstyles also help promote her music videos as they are her trademarks.
